How Does TransferX Work?

You are probably wondering how the file transfer process works (and rightfully so). At TransferX, we use a combination of advanced WebRTC technology and secure server solutions to make transferring files fast, secure, and reliable. But what does that actually mean? Let us explain in simple terms.

What is WebRTC?

WebRTC (short for Web Real-Time Communication) is a technology that allows devices to communicate with each other directly over the internet. It’s often used for peer-to-peer connections, enabling fast and private data exchanges. At TransferX, we combine WebRTC with secure servers to create a seamless and efficient transfer process.

How Does TransferX Work?

Here’s how the magic happens:

• When you start a file transfer, a unique pairing code is generated to connect your device to the recipient's device.
• The pairing code facilitates a “handshake” between both devices through our secure server.
• Your file is uploaded to the server and stored temporarily during the transfer process.
• The recipient retrieves the file securely using the pairing code.
• If you send multiple files (2 or more), they will automatically be grouped into a single ZIP file for convenience at download time.
• After the file is downloaded, it is immediately removed from our server.

To ensure even more privacy, all files are automatically deleted from the server 60 minutes after upload if they haven’t been downloaded yet.
